Fair Exhibit Entry & Process

4-Hers and Clover Kids must follow the following procedures to make a Fair Entry and Exhibit at the Story County Fair:

  1. Livestock/Animals (Sheep, Goats, Swine, Beef, ):  Must be Identified in 4-H 2.0 Online by May 15th
    1. Animal Identification Help
  2. All Exhibits (Animals, Static, Horticulture): Must make a Fair Entry by June 15th using the Fair Entry Website

Clothing and Communication Event

The clothing and communication event is held each year in March!  4-Hers and Clover Kids are invited to participate in this event.

2023 Event Information

The Clothing and Communication Event will be held March, 25th at Harvest Vineyard Church in Ames. *Registration deadline is February 24th*

Event begins at 8:00 AM with individual judging times for each exhibit followed by an Awards Presentation for all exhibitors and families around 3:00 PM. *You will receive a letter will your judging time(s) on it before the event with more details*

Clover Kids

Clover Kids K-3 can exhibit in the following categories:

  • Clover Kid Poster
  • Clover Kid $15 Challenge
  • Clover Kid Clothing Selection
  • Clover Kid Fashion Revue

Clover Kids in 3rd grade can exhibit in the above categories as well as these additional categories: 

  • Clover Kid Presentation
  • Clover Kid Working Exhibit-2023 working exhibits will be held in July during the Story County Fair

Clover Kids in 3rd grade are also invited to give a 2-5 minute presentation or working exhibit on a topic of their choice! Pick a topic that you have experience with and are excited to share about. For example, if your Clover Kid group learned about birds and birdhouses, your presentation could be on how to build a birdhouse. If doing a working exhibit, you will need to bring supplies to do the activity with participants.  You may bring props to support your presentation or working exhibit. Clover Kids may enter a presentation or working exhibit presentation with one other friend who is also an enrolled Clover Kid in Story County.

4-Hers

4-Hers can participate in the following categories:

  • 4-H Poster
  • Clothing Selection
  • Fashion Revue
  • $15 Challenge
  • Extemporaneous Speaking
  • Educational Presentation
  • Working Exhibits- 2023 working exhibits will be held in July during the Story County Fair
