Story County Master Gardener Association


 
The Story County Master Gardener Association is a voluntary organization whose members are committed to expanding their individual and collective knowledge on topics related to horticulture, conservation and resource preservation.  Members of the Association fulfill their commitment to community education by sharing gardening information with the public, by providing college scholarships, and by donating time and monies to communities for materials and projects that relate to gardening.  Regular meetings provide a means for Master Gardeners to share gardening knowledge.

2021 Story County Master Gardener Association Scholarship

 
Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded for 2021. The Story County Master Gardeners Association (SCMGA) will select and announce the scholarship winner in May. The recipient will be recognized at a meeting of the Association.
 
Applicants for this scholarship must meet the following criteria:
 
1. Applicants must be a graduating senior of a Story / Boone / Marshall County high school or a graduate of a Story, Boone or Marshall County high school attending (or planning to attend) an Iowa College, University, or Iowa Area Community College.
 
2. Applicants must be a full-time student, or entering as a full-time student with a declared major (or planning to declare a major) in horticulture, floriculture, landscape horticulture, nursery & garden center mgt. greenhouse production, urban/community forestry, and turf grass science & management in a two-year or four-year program.
 
3. Applicants will be limited to 2 (two) Story County Master Gardener Association Scholarship awards during their academic career.
