Story County 4-H Food Stand Manager

The Story County, ISU Extension and Outreach office is accepting applications for the 2018 4-H Food Stand Manager at the Story County Fair. 
 
Duties Include:

  1. Review food stand operating guidelines with the County Youth Coordinator (CYC)
  2. Be the first contact with the food stand inspector (CYC is second if needed)
  3. Supervise and manage the operation of the 4-H food stand beginning on the Monday prep night before fair and ending following clean-up Thursday following fair.
  4. Open the food stand and work with volunteers on daily preparations
  5. Help train 4-H food stand volunteers before each shift on customer service, food preparation and food safety operations.
  6. Help determine volunteer stations for workers during lunches and dinners.
  7. Communicate any daily supply needs with the CYC.
  8. Close the food stand, count and log money each evening and make arrangements with the CYC to balance cash box.
  9. Clean the food stand on the last night of the county fair.

Qualifications:
 

  1. 16 years or older
  2. Knowledge of current food safety practices
  3. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  4. Must have a valid driver’s license
  5. Pass a background screening
