Megan is an education extension specialist on Iowa State University Farm, Food, and Enterprise Development's food systems team and is based in Ames, Iowa. Her position is situated in both Agriculture and Natural Resources and Community Economic Development. She supports the food systems team with facilitation and programming for areas involving local food supply chains, including food hubs, niche processing and distribution; Farm to School and Early Care; and farmworkers. She also supports research and programming for Community Food Systems facilitation, coordination, and project assistance. With the help of a campus-wide planning committee, Megan coordinates Iowa State University's Local Food Festival, which is a farmers-market-style celebration of local food, community, and sustainability for the ISU community. 

Megan grew up in a small town near Dubuque, Iowa, but now lives with her partner in Deep River, Iowa. She earned her bachelor’s degrees in agronomy and global resource systems as well as a minor in Spanish from Iowa State University. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in agricultural education and a certificate in education and outreach in Agricultural and Natural Resources. Megan is passionate about social justice and equity and enjoys traveling, baking bread, gardening, and hiking in her free time.
