2016 International BioGENEius Challenge

Overview

The 2016 Iowa BioGENEius Challenge is coordinated by the Iowa Biotechnology Association (IowaBio). Local Iowa students in grades 9 through 12 can compete in the Iowa BioGENEius Challenge, which is held in conjunction with the annual State Science and Technology Fair of Iowa (SSTFI) in Ames.

2016 Teacher Registration is now live

2016 Teacher Registration is now live. Please go to https://www.extension.iastate.edu/sstfi/ and complete the teacher registration. The student survey is also live and we would appreciate you having all of your fair students complete the fair survey prior to the fair. This is really helpful for us to explain who we are reaching to our partners. If you have any problems please contact us. Student project registration is planned to be live next week. Deadline Reminder

Project Uploading Update

February 25, 2016

As of today, teachers can upload their student's documents as well. Just click on the "Upload additional documents" link under the project to go to the upload page.  The registration number is the project number.  This functionality has been added to allow editing of the entry to resolve these issues.

As for the project approval status, this page will be the place to view this, as well as an email will be generated with the change.  The review process has not yet began. Read more about Project Uploading Update

Workshop registration is now open

Registration for the workshops at SSTFI 2016 is now open.  This will be the only registration for workshops.  Students need to register on a first come, first served basis.  The line up for workshop shops this year has a great selection on a variety of topics. AMS Annual Science Fair

Iowa State's Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society will be hosting its second annual Science Fair on Saturday, April 9th and we are reaching out to you to help us spread the word. Brief information related to this event is listed below and a flyer is attached for more detailed information. The fair is free to enter and there will be prizes for the top projects! Projects do not have to be weather-related, they can be on any topic.
