NOW HIRING: Sioux County K-12 Program Coordinator

OBJECTIVE: To plan, coordinate and conduct innovative educational programming opportunities for Sioux County youth, with a specific emphasis on expanding the program to include new and under-served audiences.


  • Direct and conduct hands-on educational K-12 programming, in the classroom and at after-school or other supplemental programs. Examples of educational programming may include: Summer Camps, Library programs, Clover Kids after-school sessions, etc.
  • Expand our programming reach to include new and under-served audiences.
  • Lead Sioux County Clover Kids, an after-school program for youth in 1st through 3rd grade.
  • Assist with 4th through 12th grade 4-H events and community 4-H club programming and training as needed in cooperation with the Sioux County Youth Coordinator.
  • Work with county staff to market programming opportunities to residents of the county, including but not limited to under-served populations.
  • Assist with adult volunteer recruitment and development to deliver or assist in the delivery of ISU Extension and Outreach programming.
  • Work independently and with other staff to secure necessary resources (volunteers, materials, donations, etc.) to support ISU Extension and Outreach programs.
  • Manage resources and partnerships to ensure effective delivery of educational programs.
  • Assist with the Sioux County Youth Fair.
  • Provide comprehensive and complex educational programming to support long-term behavioral change.
  • Be recognized locally as an ISU Extension and Outreach professional through networking, community involvement and public relations.
  • Provide monthly written updates to the Sioux County Extension Council of activities, programming and impact.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but associate degree will be considered with adequate experience.
  • Teaching and program delivery experience, specifically to youth ages K-12, using already developed curriculum.
  • Evidence of networking, advocacy and salesmanship skills.
  • Strong organization, communication and customer relation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer programs.
  • Ability to successfully manage schedule including some evening, weekend and overnight programs.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass background screening to meet the Child Protection and Safety Policy requirements.


  • Coursework in education with experience in formal and/or informal teaching.
  • Ability to speak/write in Spanish.
  • Knowledge of the experiential learning model and familiarity with youth developmental stages.
  • Experience as a user of Extension programs a plus, but not required.

  • Position will be based at the ISU Extension and Outreach Sioux County office located at 400 Central Avenue, NW, Suite 700 in Orange City, with some travel necessary for events and programming.
  • Starting wage will be dependent on qualifications and experience, plus benefits.
  • Work hours will be flexible, including some evenings, weekends and overnights, not to exceed 40 hours/week.
  • Mileage and other approved travel expenses will be reimbursed monthly at the IRS rate.
