Iowa State University Extension and Outreach’s Annual Farmland Leasing Meetings for agriculture property owners, tenants, ag business representatives and lenders will be held at 11 different locations throughout early August. Each workshop will focus on current farmland value and lease rate trends, methods for determining fair ag rents for 2022 and farmland lease communication and legalities, including how to write and terminate a lease.

Dairy producers in the I-29 corridor and the United States have a new way of receiving information, thanks to the I-29 Moo University Dairy Consortium. Extension Dairy Specialists from each state develop the industry-specific content for the twice monthly podcast. “The [I-29 Moo U Dairy] podcast discusses current issues faced by dairy producers from economics and animal health, to forage, labor and farm programs,” said Kim Clark, Nebraska Extension Dairy Educator, and one of three regular hosts for the program.

Dairy producers across Iowa have a new way of receiving information, thanks to a new podcast launched by dairy specialists with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. “Dairy News & Views from Iowa State University” began recording in April, featuring timely topics related to the COVID-19 pandemic and dairy production in general. The podcasts are recorded every two weeks, and feature commentary by ISU Extension and Outreach dairy specialists Jennifer Bentley and Fred Hall, in conversation with other Iowa State dairy industry experts.

  • A multi-tiered effort to study and analyze the impact of agricultural management practices on surface and subsurface drainage, from both a water quality and quantity perspective.
