Babysitters Training

Participants will learn about ages and stages of children ages 0-8, proper holding, feeding, diapering and age appropriate activities. Participants will learn how to be capable, caring, trustworthy, and responsible babysitters. Open to any youth of babysitting age and ability. Lunch will be provided. Registration form and payment must be received to hold an opening. Registrations are due by 5 PM April 5. To register download this pdf.

2024 Summer Day Camps

Shelby County Extension & Outreach Summer Day Camp programs are designed to address youth needs of belonging, independence, generosity, and mastery. Programs feature hands-on individual and group learning experiences in a fun, relaxed setting. Grade levels are the grade the student completed Spring 2024. Fizz, Bubble, Goo

"Fizz, Bubble, Goo" is an exciting day camp tailored for youth in grades 4-6, blending scientific exploration with fun-filled activities. Participants delve into the world of everyday chemistry, conducting experiments that fizz, bubble, and ooze with excitement while fostering a sense of belonging and creating a memorable adventure of discovery and friendship. Through hands-on learning and interactive sessions, campers develop critical thinking skills and a passion for scientific inquiry.

Art Explosion

Explore all areas of art and creativity! Campers will bring home art projects from this day of exploring the elements of design, art principles, and different forms of creativity!

Where the Grass is Greener

Join us for hands-on activities and experiments to learn more about Perennial Ground cover and its benefits. Activities include rain simulators, insect collection and identification, soil microbiology, exploration of cover crops, and more. 

Creepy Crawly

A Creepy Crawly adventure camp to learn about spiders, pollinators, and more! We’ll take a closer look at insects around us to help us learn how to live with our creepy crawly neighbors.
