Virtual Organizational Professional Development Book Club - Privilege, Power, and Difference
Professional Development will be offering an on-line 4-week opportunity, June 11-July 2, 2020 to engage in cultural conversations with our colleagues centering around the book, Privilege, Power, and Difference, by Allan G. Johnson.
This 50-minute online learning session will engage participants in the topic of emotional intelligence in a virtual world. Emotional intelligence refers to a distinct combination of emotional, social skills, and competencies that influence our overall capability to cope effectively with the demands and pressures of work and life. Individuals will explore the benefits and challenges to assuring Emotional Intelligence is a part of every virtual exchange – whether you are leading an online class, participating in a Zoom meeting, or joining a conference call.
Due to the cancellation of ISU campus events through May 31, the spring face to face session of New Staff Orientation scheduled for April 30, ha been canceled. Registrants for the spring session are encouraged to attend the September 17 event.

Starting a new job can be overwhelming, especially within a complex organization like ours. Orientation is important and necessary.
The onset of COVID-19 made it necessary to cancel the face to face New Staff Orientation in April. As a result of the cancellation, a virtual introduction to Extension and Outreach, 'Things You Need to Know on Day One' was created.
