Register for Adult Learning Module Series

Professional Development offers a series of classes/modules (independent yet related), that help with the process of creating classes, programs, and workshops. The 3 online modules can be taken independently or sequentially. Join a cohort of learners as you learn about: Writing Clear Learning Objectives; Effective Instructional Design Methods; and Integrating Instructional Activities. The modules are offered in a flipped format, meaning participants learn materials online at their pace (asynchronous) and then come together via video conference (synchronous) to discuss the material. Each module takes about 1-3 hours to complete the asynchronous portion and 1.5 hours for the synchronous portion. Classes are limited to 15 people. See below module course information sheets and launch dates as well as what participants had to say about the series.

Writing Clear Learning Objectives Course Information - Spring 2018.pdf                                           April 16 - April 23, 2018

“We aren’t often taught the process to write effective learning objectives. This class provides us with the critical process we need to do that. Writing learning objectives will strengthen my programs and, in turn, provide a higher public value for my learners”.

Effective Instructional Design Methods Course Information - Spring 2018.pdf                               May 14 - May 21, 2018

“A must-take class.  It validated what I’m already doing right and filled in the holes where I was lacking. It provided me with lots of ideas on how to improve my future programs and workshop”.

Integrating Instructional Activities Course Information - Spring 2018.pdf                        June 11 - June 18, 2018

“This course is well-paced and balanced, offering a progression of learning objectives that build successively on each other very well.  Effective Instructional Activities provides a great platform for anyone preparing to teach adult learners and is a great review for those who have previous experience”.
