Dr. Diane Van Wyngarden creates and teaches customized tourism educational programs. Her specialties include interpretive guiding, group travel, and retail and culinary tourism, with an emphasis in improving visitor experiences.

Road Scholar International awarded Diane the national honor of Top Educational Group Travel Program in North America. Her awards from Iowa State University include Excellence in Partnership to Iowans Award, the Extension Education Award, the Vice Provost Special Citation Award, and Outstanding Professional Practice Award. She is also the recipient of Iowa Economic Development Authority's State Tourism Award.  

Diane serves tourism clients at the local, state and national levels. She has created and taught more than 60 domestic and international tourism programs, and represents the Midwest states on the National Extension Tourism Board. In her free time, Diane enjoys traveling back roads and discovering more of Iowa's hidden tourism gems.
