Clover Kids
What is Clover Kids?
Clover Kids is a fun 4-H program specifically designed for children in kindergarten through third grade. The overall purpose of the Iowa 4-H Clover Kids program is to foster the development of life skills that are essential for the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical maturation of kindergarten through third graders by providing a unique, age-appropriate educational opportunity. In order to provide a high-quality learning experience, the Clover Kids program is designed to be continuous and long-term.
What do Clover Kids do?
Investigate Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM), explore literacy through fun and engaging ways to read and write, learn the importance of being healthy and physically active, practice communication skills and learn to work as a team, play fun cooperative games and make new friends, participate in developmentally appropriate opportunities at County Fair, and much, much more!

Event Day
What is Event Day?
Event Day gives Clover Kids an opportunity to tell others about/show off their 4-H projects and demonstrate their talents and abilities. Food Challenges, Clothing Challenges, and Presentations are judged and awarded ribbons. You can find descriptions of the various Event Day challenges that Poweshiek County Clover Kid youth can do in the 2023 Clover Kids Fair Newsletter and the 2023 Poweshiek County Fairbook.
Event Day Details
Event Day will be held on June 24, 2023 at the United Methodist Church (916 5th Ave, Grinnell, IA 50112).
Register for Event Day by visiting Fair Entry and logging in with 4-H Online. Registrations due by June 21, 2023
Once all entries are made a schedule will be created, with each event having a 15 minute time slot.
Participants should fill out the corresponding Event Day Goal Form and bring it with them to Event Day:

Indoor Static Exhibits - July 8, 2023
This is your Clover Kid’s opportunity to show off something they’ve created or done. It could be an informative poster, a cookie they baked, a picture frame they decorated, a craft they made, something they drew, or something they take care of. The possibilities are endless! You can find descriptions of the various Indoor Static Exhibits that Poweshiek County Clover Kid youth can do in the 2023 Clover Kids Fair Newsletter and the 2023 Poweshiek County Fairbook.
Register Indoor Static Exhibits by visiting Fair Entry and logging in with 4-H Online. Registrations due by July 1, 2023.
Participants should fill out a Project Goal Form and/or a Pet Goal Form and bring it with them to Indoor Static Day along with their project.
Livestock July 11-16, 2023
This is your Clover Kid’s opportunity to show off livestock animals that they take care of. You can find the Clover Kid livestock show schedule and Clover Kid livestock project descriptions in the 2023 Clover Kids Fair Newsletter and the 2023 Poweshiek County Fairbook.
Clover Kid livestock MUST be housed at the fairgrounds throughout the duration of the fair.
Livestock may arrive at the fairgrounds on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 5:00 –8:00 pm.
Register for Livestock Projects by:
· Enter animal identification information on 4-H Online by May 15, 2023
· If applicable: Fill out the corresponding Bucket Bottle Calf, Bucket Bottle Lamb, or Bucket Bottle Goat ID Form and turn it into the Extension Office by May 15, 2023.
· Participants should fill out a Bucket Bottle Livestock Goal Form and bring it with them to their livestock show.
