
Marisol Molstre has been with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Polk County since 2018 as their Marketing Strategist. In her role Molstre has led, managed and implemented Polk County’s marketing and communications efforts to maximize public awareness, program development and partnership opportunities. Molstre has assisted with the development and implementation of the county’s strategic and marketing communications plans; written and reviewed a variety of content for traditional and digital media; and conducted media relations to pitch timely stories to area media.
Over the course of her career in communications, Molstre assisted a variety of clients with tailored public affairs, public relations, and marketing campaigns. Molstre’s work experience has allowed her to develop and maintain relationships with statewide media, as well as individuals, partners and organizations on a grassroots and grasstops level.
Prior to her work at ISU Extension and Outreach in Polk County, she conducted extensive media relations and implemented public relations strategies for various non-profit groups and trade associations including the Iowa Chamber Alliance, Associated Builders and Contractors of Iowa, Iowa Business Council, Growth Energy, New American Economy, among others.
A native Iowan, Molstre earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts with an emphasis in public relations and a Spanish minor from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. She resides in Altoona with her husband and three children Seneca, Jett and Shawna.
