ALTOONA, IA (October 17, 2022) – Each fall Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Polk County (Polk County Extension) serves hundreds of commercial and private pesticide applicators by offering recertification classes. The fall 2022 scheduled has been released. Registration is required and the fee varies depending on the recertification course. Available courses are listed below, and additional recertification classes will be added based on demand so check here or the Polk County Extension pesticide safety education program page regularly.

The goal of the Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) is to provide educational information throughout Iowa on the safe and effective use of pesticides. PSEP is responsible for Pesticide Applicator Continuing Instruction Courses (CIC’s) in cooperation with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. Other programs that PSEP is involved in include integrated pest management, worker protection, environmental quality, and agricultural health.
