Polk County Welcomes New County Youth Coordinator

Altoona, IA– Polk County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is pleased to welcome Madisen Gaskin to the Polk County Extension family as a County Youth Coordinator on November 17, 2017. As a County Youth Coordinator, Gaskin will work with Marci Vinsand and Megan Freel to help support the 4-H Program in reaching new and diverse youth throughout Polk County.

Prior to this position, Gaskin worked at Big Brothers Big Sisters. There she helped youth develop relationships with their mentors and achieve their personal goals. Gaskin has also worked for IMPACT Community Action Partnership where she assisted families facing financial difficulties to receive assistance and work towards achieving financial independence. Her skill set will be a valuable asset in achieving our goals at Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Polk County.
Gaskin graduated from the University of Iowa in 2015, where she studied Spanish and Human Relations. She now lives in Des Moines with her husband Kenny. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, being outdoors, reading, and crafting. Madisen also volunteers her time being a Big Sister and loves spending time with her Little.
