Meet Our New Customer Service Coordinator: Kalsa Parker

Altoona, IA– Polk County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is pleased to welcome Kalsa Parker to the Polk County Extension family as Customer Service Coordinator. She is excited to begin this position, “To connect citizens in Polk County to the educational resources and programs offered by Extension, and to be able to be part of the link that connects the great work being done at ISU to impact the lives of people living in Iowa.”

Before this position, Parker worked in Environmental Education with various non-profits around Des Moines and out of state. These included Vermont Fish and Wildlife as a Natural Resource Instructor, and part-time work for Camp Fire Heart of Iowa as a Naturalist, the Science Center of Iowa as a Programs Presenter, and Orchard Place as the Horticulture Education Coordinator.
Parker graduated in 2016 from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science.
Parker lives in Des Moines with her soon-to-be husband, James and their recently adopted cat from the ARL. She enjoys camping, hiking, rock climbing, gardening and overall being outside, as well as, aerial arts and acrobatics. “You may find me hanging upside down somewhere while not at work,” Parker says.
