4-H Soccer AmeriCorps Member
Under general supervision, works independently and facilitates youth in out of school soccer programming. Position is responsible for working with youth to establish 4-H youth soccer club(s) in Central Iowa, primarily Polk County. The position includes working with Genesis Inc. to recruit and enroll youth and deliver direct programming incorporating leadership and healthy living initiatives around soccer.  This individual must be reliable, detail-oriented, a problem-solver, self-motivated, and able to work independently or on a team.
·       Performs key responsibilities in planning and facilitating soccer programing year round
·       Build partnerships to ensure sustainability
·       Use computer to prepare lessons, respond to emails and communicate with site coordinators
·       Coordinate youth’s participation in soccer tournaments
·       Provide leadership to youth in delivering experiential learning opportunities
·       Establish best practices for others to replicate soccer programs throughout Iowa
·       Administer surveys, gather and report data in compliance with AmeriCorps requirements
·       One year of college completed
·       Reliable transportation
·       Successful completion of  Child Protection and Safety Program/background screening
·       Ability to keep accurate records and communicate effectively
·       Computer skills including email, internet, Microsoft Office programs
·       Maintaining a close working relationship with staff, volunteers and partners
·       Available some nights and weekends
·       Move and lift at least 40 pounds
·       Completing other duties as assigned
·       Able to complete service days as required by AmeriCorps
·       Experience working with youth
·       Experience working with diverse audiences
·       Fundamental understanding of soccer
Part-time, approximately 20-25hours/week, hours negotiable. Applicant must complete 900 hours within 12 months. Must be available 1-2 evenings a week and occasional weekend hours as scheduled. 
A total living allowance of $6,634 (pre-tax) issued in equal monthly payments on last day of the month. Upon successful completion of the 900 hours of service, AmeriCorps members qualify for $2,864 education award in the form of a voucher. The voucher can be used on accrued education expenses or future educational expenses.
