Altoona Workshop for Farmland Owners scheduled for Feb. 14

ALTOONA, Iowa― Farmland owners and managers will learn the latest on China trade, farmland values, succession planning, legal and income tax law changes, and an overview of the agriculture year ahead at a workshop on Friday, Feb. 14, at the Polk County ISU Extension office in Altoona.
 
Topics include:

  • China Trade Update & Iowa Land Values, Wendong Zhang, ISU Economist
  • Leaving Farmland as a Legacy, Susan K. Voss, CPA, TDT CPAs and Advisors, P.C.
  • Ag Law and Tax Updates for Farmland Owners by Kristine Tidgren, Director ISU Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation
  • Ag Vision 2020: The Road Ahead by Steve Johnson, Farm Management Specialist, ISU Extension and Outreach

 
The workshop starts at 9 a.m. with doors opening at 8:30 a.m. at the Polk County ISU Extension Office located at 1625 Adventureland Drive, Suite A, in Altoona. The workshop will last until 3 p.m. with a catered lunch.
 
Pre-registration is required on or before Tuesday, Feb. 11, at $35 per individual or $50 per couple, payable at the door. This fee includes all training material and a catered lunch. Seating is limited so pre-register early.
