Iowa State University Extension and Outreach welcomes Yenibeth Lopez, Program Assistant for the Buy Eat Live Healthy program, part of the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP). Yenibeth will serve families in Polk County, providing education on how to plan and prepare low-cost and nutritious meals.

Today, over 70 youth and school staff members from area middle and high schools participated in the Iowa 4-H RISE College Access Conference held at Simpson College in Indianola. Participating students came from seven central and south-central Iowa communities including Chariton, Des Moines, Indianola, Marshalltown, Norwalk, Ottumwa, and Winterset.

Michelle Schott, family life extension educator for Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach, Polk County, was the 2019 recipient of the Margaret K. Yoder Human Sciences Extension Award. The Award is given to a young extension professional who has demonstrated excellence in programming. Schott was presented the award yesterday in front of over 400 professional peers during the ISU Extension and Outreach Professionals Annual Conference held in Ames, Iowa.
