2019 and 2020 Race Director-Megan Ford
Hello! My name is Megan Ford and I'm the Race Director for the 5th & 6th Annual Clover Dash 5K!
I have been a member of 4-H for the past nine years which has grown my passion for communication, leadership, and healthy living! I am a current senior at Saydel High School where I participate in mock trial, band, tennis, robotics, and National Honors Society. After my graduation from Saydel, I plan to attend a four year university to major in Political Sciences or Pre-Law.
I became involved with the Clover Dash in 2015 working as a volunteer. I volunteered for two years before becoming the volunteer coordinator for the 4th annual race in the summer of 2018. I'm very exciting to be serving as the Race Director for the 5th annual Clover Dash! My work for the 5K has given me a great opportunity to give back to the 4-H program that has taught me so much throughout my life. My goals for the 5th Clover Dash are to maintain 20-25 strong donor partnerships, register 200 runners, and continue the Clover Kids Tot Trot, one of my favorite parts of the whole event. Finally, I hope to inspire other 4-Her's to become involved with the Clover Dash and give them the opportunity to give back to this wonderful organization and maintain this positive tradition for years to come!
2018 Race Director-Laurel McGonegle
Hello! My name is Laurel McGonegle and I am the Race Director for the 4th Annual Polk County Clover Dash 5K!
My 4-H involvement for 8 years has grown my skills and passion for healthy living, communication, and leadership. I am a student at Dowling Catholic High School and am involved in cross country, track, choir, mock trial, Special Olympics and Peer Tutors. In the next year I am planning to go to Iowa State/Purdue and study food science and business.
I became involved on the Clover Dash planning committee 2 years ago to gain skills in planning and to share my love of running with others. Joy Niklasen was also a positive 4-H mentor to me and I wanted to give back in some way to her family. The 5K has provided a great way for me to give back to the 4-H program all that it has given me.  My goals for this year's race are to add a Clover Trot Kids Race, get a solid 200 participants, maintain a strong 25-30 donors/sponsors, and continue to connect with 4-Hers who are interested in helping with the race. I have enjoyed working with the Clover Dash Committee over the years and would like to see this positive 5K tradition going in the future!
