SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa – Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach is partnering with the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) to conduct 2018 Farm Bill workshops in Northwest Iowa throughout December. Producers, agri-business personnel, landowners and other interested parties will have an opportunity to learn about the program election and enrollment process regarding the 2018 Farm Bill, as well as discuss farm stress management and financial decision-making. With seven meetings to be hosted in the region, individuals can select the date and location that works best for them.

Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach invites area residents to join them for a two-session retirement preparation workshop on Thursday, Jan. 9 and Thursday, Jan. 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Northwest Iowa Community College, Building A, Room 122 in Sheldon. The “Writing Your Retirement Paycheck” workshop is ideal for those looking to retire within the next 10 years. It is designed to provide people approaching retirement with the information they need to be prepared to “write their own paycheck.” The workshop outlines key factors to consider prior to retirement and describes strategies for structuring retirement income.

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Horticulture Program Coordinator Dawn Henderson will host “Houseplants & Propagation” on Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the ISU Extension and Outreach office located at 400 Central Ave. Northwest in Orange City. The home horticulture program is open to the public and will focus on how to grow and propagate houseplants.

Our summer camps are offered throughout Cherokee, Lyon, O'Brien, Osceola and Sioux Counties each summer beginning in June and continuing through early-August.
