ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Beef Quality Assurance Transportation is the latest certification needed for beef cattle haulers and producers who deliver cattle to major packing plants. The BQA Transportation program has several objectives with the key components being to provide for transporter safety, to deliver cattle in a timely manner and to provide the most comfortable transportation for the animals.

Feedlot Forum 2020 will be hosted Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the Terrace View Event Center in Sioux Center. This is the 17th year for the program which is cohosted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, the Iowa Beef Center, the Sioux, Lyon and Plymouth County Cattlemen’s Associations, and the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association. Feedlot Forum is an opportunity for feedlot producers and allied agribusiness professionals to receive the latest information on beef production and marketing.

SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa – Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach is partnering with the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) to conduct 2018 Farm Bill workshops in Northwest Iowa throughout December. Producers, agri-business personnel, landowners and other interested parties will have an opportunity to learn about the program election and enrollment process regarding the 2018 Farm Bill, as well as discuss farm stress management and financial decision-making. With seven meetings to be hosted in the region, individuals can select the date and location that works best for them.

SIBLEY, Iowa – With only a short time remaining to secure health insurance for the upcoming year, Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach is offering a free workshop to help individuals understand how to make smart choices when purchasing health care coverage. The workshop will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 19 at the Sibley Public Library.

  • Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management Extension provides resources for the hospitality industry.

  • Data on each county in Iowa including population demographics, education, retail sales, personal income, employment, occupation, housing, and family characteristics.

  • The Iowa Small Business Development Center (SBDC) conducts research, counsels, and trains business people in management, financing, and operating small businesses, and provides comprehensive information services and access to experts in a variety of fields.

  • Specialists have compiled a list of resources to help you prepare for and recover from natural disasters. Remember to take care of yourself and your family first; then deal with the things lost to the disaster.
