Camps and Youth Programs are Open to Everyone!

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach O'Brien County offers camps and youth programs all year. These activities and events are open to all youth. 4-H membership not required. 

STEAM Fest: February 10, 2024

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and Dordt University collaborate to host STEAM Fest each year. 

STEAM Fest is a day of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math interactive hands-on learning for youth in 4th through 8th grade. 4-H membership is not required.

STEAM Fest, Junior: March 9, 2024

STEAM Fest, Junior is open to 1st through 3rd graders. Youth are invited to spend the morning learning and having fun while participating in hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) activities hosted by the ISU Extension and Outreach Northwest Iowa Youth Development Team.

Nose to Tail Animal Academy: April 16, 2024

The workshop will focus on selection, showmanship, nutrition and health of livestock. Each youth will have the opportunity to participate in three livestock workshops, with an optional YQCA training at the end.

PLUNGE into 4-H Overnight Camp: April 26-27, 2024

"PLUNGE into 4-H" is a middle school overnight camp where we focus on leadership development, communication and teamwork, trying new things, exploring opportunities, and giving back to others through community service. It is open to 6th, 7th and 8th graders. 4-H membership not required.

Summer Camps: Summer 2024

ISU Extension and Outreach Lyon County hosts a variety of camps for youth each summer. Camps generally consist of hands-on interactive learning related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, Robotics, Cooking, and the Arts.

Multi-County 4-H Swim/Skate: December 2024

Join other 4-H youth in grades 4-12 from around the area for a fun day of swimming, skating, food, friends and fun!

Guidelines for Attendees:

$10 cost includes swimming, skating during skating time, games/activities, light lunch and snacks. 

Parents and (parental supervised) younger siblings requested to pay directly to the All Season Center for open public swim/skate.
