March 19, 2019

"PLUNGE! into 4-H" will be held April 26-27 at Camp Foster-YMCA near Spirit Lake. PLUNGE! is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th grade youth. Cost to attend is $60 per youth and includes lodging, food and activities. 

March 15, 2019

SIBLEY, Iowa – Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach will host a child care provider training, “Preschoolers and Pennies: Read, Talk, Learn and Play” on Monday, April 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Osceola Community Hospital Wellness Center Multi-Purpose Room. The training is being provided at no cost thanks to the sponsorship of Lakes Partnerships for Protecting Children (PPC). Each attendee will also receive one free set of three books to be used in their child care center or home daycare.

Check this list of private pesticide continuing instruction course (CIC) programs that will be held in and around Northwest Iowa this winter. You do need to preregister for CIC sessions in each county.

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Cold and wet weather has added to the challenges of Iowa cow-calf producers that are currently calving. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach beef specialist Beth Doran said both are ideal conditions for contributing to calf scours.
