Iowa Learning Farms, along with ISU Extension and Outreach - Bremer County, will host a cover crop, soil health and bioreactor field day Thursday, March 29 at the Brian and Brenda Meyer farm, rural Readlyn.
Iowa Learning Farms and partners will host a cover crop, soil health and conservation leases field day for women landowners on Wednesday, March 28 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at James and Michelle Allen’s farm, rural Diagonal.
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, the Iowa Monarch Conservation Consortium and the Southeast Iowa Agricultural Research Association will host a field day on March 29 to highlight pollinator and prairie establishment and management.
Brian Sampson, a Story County farmer, will discuss his transition to strip-tillage and addition cover crops as well as his experience with the conservation planning process with the NRCS and Iowa Learning Farms. Iowa State specialists are also on the agenda.
The field day will feature a panel of Montgomery County cover crop farmers including Gary Johnson, Mike Johnson, Mark Peterson, Dave Robinette and Kent Swanson.
Winneshiek County farmer Jake Groth will share experiences related to transitioning to no-till and adding cover crops to the management of his family farm during the Nov. 21 field day at the Winneshiek County NRCS office.
