Thirteen Iowa 4-H members joined more than 1,000 young people from 33 states at the Western National Roundup Jan. 4-7 in Denver, Colo. Iowa 4-H’ers placed in the top 10 for several events, both as teams and individuals.
On Sunday, Aug. 20, 121 Iowa 4-H volunteers from 94 counties were inducted into the 2017 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame at the 4-H Exhibits Building at the Iowa State Fair.
Sixteen Iowa 4-H members qualified for the new Special Awards sponsored by IH Collector’s Club Chapter 5. Youth who exhibited projects at the Iowa State Fair related to IH/Farmall brand family were eligible to participate.
Fifty Iowa 4-H’ers have received 2017 state 4-H project awards. These 4-H youth are recognized as the top winners in their project areas across the state.
More than 200 students competed for prizes, awards and scholarships during the State Science and Technology Fair of Iowa for junior and senior high students, March 30-31 at Hilton Coliseum on the Iowa State University campus in Ames.
Several human sciences staff and faculty members with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach received awards from the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
Five Iowa State University Extension and Outreach personnel will receive Iowa State University awards. Denise Schwab, Robert Dodds, Jon Wolseth, Daniel Morrical and Larry Tranel will be recognized during the university’s awards ceremony Monday, Sept. 26 on campus in Ames.
