The specialty crop industry will gather Feb. 22-23 in Ankeny for the annual Iowa Specialty Producers Conference, presented in part by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Jolene Brown, a family farmer and motivational speaker from eastern Iowa, will provide the keynote address.
The newly branded Iowa Specialty Crop Growers Association will carry on the same duties of the Iowa Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association – with a new name and a broader focus, according to a program specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, along with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, recognize the importance of fruits and vegetables to the state's economy and the nutritional value specialty crops provide.
