Safe Local Food an Emphasis of ISU Extension and Outreach

Specialists work with growers to make sure quality food reaches the table

AMES, Iowa – Ensuring the safety of the locally grown food that reaches family tables is one of the primary focuses of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.

ISU Extension and Outreach specialists work together to empower Iowa’s growers and producers. Through field days, certification courses and farm visits they provide the latest information on food safety guidelines and laws, industry standards and offer training on good agricultural practices.
