A four-session course called Women Managing Horses begins Nov. 14 and covers the major business risks of raising, handling and marketing healthy horses. The course also provides opportunities for participants to interact with some of the state’s most qualified equine experts.
This equine course for women horse owners will touch on the major factors of raising, handling and marketing horses, led by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
Due to warmer and drier weather this summer, it is even more critical to understand pasture quality and how to use pasture to support healthy horses, according to an equine specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
Women horse owners and caretakers will have an opportunity to learn more about Iowa’s equine industry from a business and production perspective, during a four-session course on equine management decisions. The in-person program begins Feb. 9 at the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Adair County office in Greenfield.
An Equine Extravaganza event held by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach April 14-16 allowed youth to showcase and demonstrate their knowledge of equine-related subject matters.
