4-H teams from Muscatine, Jackson, Story, O’Brien and Louisa counties will represent Iowa at national 4-H livestock and meats judging contests from October through January. The teams earned the privilege to represent Iowa 4-H after they received top honors in the 2016 4-H/FFA State Livestock and Meats Judging Contests.
A Story County team of Iowa 4-H’ers captured third place in the AKSARBEN 4-H Quiz Bowl. The event was part of the 89th AKSARBEN Stock Show & Rodeo in Omaha, Neb.
Three Iowa youth received third-place awards at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, May 14-19 in Los Angeles, Calif. Eight Iowa students were awarded the opportunity to attend or participate in the international event at the State Science and Technology Fair of Iowa held in March.

The Delaware County 4-H Dairy Quiz Bowl team recently represented Iowa, earning third place in the North American Invitational. This Delaware County team is only the sixth Iowa team to earn third place or higher in the 38 years Iowa has competed.
The Iowa State Fairgrounds will host a Fair Special Edition: Iowa 4-H and FFA Livestock Show this summer, following the postponement of the 2020 Iowa State Fair. The revised schedule for 4-H livestock shows will be spread out over three weeks and held Thursday through Saturday – Aug. 6-8, 13-15 and 20-22.
Thirty-eight individuals from nine counties competed in the 2020 State 4-H Livestock Judging Contest in Ames. This year’s contest included only a senior age division due to COVID-19 and safety precautions.
