AMES, Iowa – The marketing limitations of COVID-19 are causing businesses owners across Iowa to consider ways to move sales online.
To help businesses take full advantage of online sales, the Farm, Food and Enterprise Development (FFED) and Community and Economic Development programs at Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will hold a webinar Tuesday, May 19 with a specialist from the online marketing program Square.
Martin Guerrero, e-commerce specialist with Square, will lead a 90-minute presentation called “How to Take Your Business Online.”
Guerreo will cover topics such as choosing the best online platforms and forms of payment, creating and updating websites, and listing inventory.
Examples will be provided, as well as some useful templates for creating a website, and links to additional resources.
Brian Tapp, enterprise development team coordinator with FFED at ISU Extension and Outreach, said online marketing and sales are important during the pandemic, and are something that can benefit business owners long-term.
“The webinar will provide participants information on how they can enhance their existing web presence, or develop an online sales presence,” Tapp said.
The Iowa Small Business Development Centers is also a sponsor. Registration is required and is available on the Iowa State University Program Services website. Participants will receive connection instructions in their confirmation email, which will be sent soon after registering.
The webinar will be hosted at 2 p.m., on the Adobe Connect platform. Participants should download and try logging in prior to the webinar, using the link in the confirmation email.
Additional webinars and podcasts are available on the Back to Business Iowa website, another project of ISU Extension and Outreach.
