AMES, Iowa – Bridget Shultz has accepted the position of regional director with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach serving Butler, Bremer, Buchanan and Fayette counties in northeast Iowa. She begins the position Feb. 19. As regional director, Shultz will provide administrative leadership to county extension office staff and guidance to county extension councils.
Currently Shultz is director of TRIO Student Support Services and an academic advisor at North Iowa Area Community College. Her previous experience includes serving as a product/training development specialist at Hawkeye Community College, a lecturer at Wartburg College and a program coordinator at University of Northern Iowa. She also has experience as an admissions counselor and recruitment specialist at The Art Institutes International, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“Bridget’s experience in higher education, budget management, grant writing and staff supervision are a good fit for the role of a regional director,” said Andrea Welchans, assistant vice president with ISU Extension and Outreach. “We congratulate Bridget and welcome her to Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.”
Shultz received an Associate of Arts in general studies from North Iowa Area Community College. She received her bachelor's in general communication and master's in communication education from University of Northern Iowa.
