Bowers Joins Enterprise Development Team with Extension and Outreach

Helping businesses plan for success is Ethan Bowers' passion

AMES, Iowa – Ethan Bowers has joined Iowa State University Extension and Outreach as an enterprise development specialist.

Bowers earned a bachelor of science degree from Iowa State in 2020 and has a strong interest in helping businesses overcome challenges and succeed.

He will work with the Farm, Food and Enterprise Development Team with extension, where he will help business owners develop business plans, create financial projections and assist with other needs as requested.

Ethan Bowers.“I will be working directly with small companies and towns in rural Iowa, helping them with business analysis and market potential,” Bowers said. “Our team with FFED can provide a wide variety of business services, and I look forward to helping Iowans.”

Bowers is currently working on a study of the state’s agritourism industry and the economic impact that agritourism has on Iowa. He will work closely with others on the Enterprise Development Team, including Duane Johnson, program manager for Enterprise Development.

“We were impressed with Ethan during the interview process, and since coming on board we have been very pleased,” said Johnson. “We expect he will be a valuable contributor to our group and look forward to working with him going forward!”

Bowers is an Ames native and lives in Ames with his wife, Haley, and 5-year-old daughter, Ivy.

In addition to business planning and feasibility, the team offers services related to business transitions, appraisals, economic development and more.
