2023 Information
In the Broiler Derby Contest, participants provide a comprehensive record of their experience of raising broiler chickens. Participants are judged on both their records and an interview as well as live standards for poultry.
Chicks are ordered through the Muscatine County Extension Office and then picked up by participants to be taken home and raised.
There is a minimum order of five chicks per participant and will be shown in a pen of three at the fair. Chicks are $3.50 per bird ($17.50 for every five birds.) Birds must be ordered by May 1, through the sign up form or by calling the Muscatine County Extension Office (563-263-5701). Payment is due at the time of chick pick-up, the week of June 1.
