Fourth Annual Women Gaining Ground Conference Scheduled for March 10

Women, Land & Legacy of Southwest Iowa has been busy making plans for the 4th Annual Women Gaining Ground Conference, a one-day event designed to be fun and empowering for women from all walks of life.  The conference will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Glenwood High School.
The planning committee is excited to welcome Dr. Deanna Davis, Ph.D. as this year’s keynote speaker.  Deanna is the author of three books:  The Law of Attraction in Action, Living with Intention, and Laugh, Cry, Eat Some Pie.  She is an accomplished professional speaker, coach and consultant.  Deanna believes the best route to success, satisfaction, and self-care is through a serious commitment to your sense of humor and self-awareness.
Deanna earned her Ph.D. in Leadership from Gonzaga University and her Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Washington.  Her client list includes big names such as Microsoft, the American Heart Association, Farmers Insurance, the National Association of Women Business Owners, and the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Committed to causes relative to the areas of health, human services and community development, Deanna’s one-woman comedy shows, “A Girls’ Night Out That Gives Back” and “Comedy for a Cause,” have toured major venues to packed houses, bringing awareness and resources to critical community services and charities.
The title of this year’s keynote presentation is “How Chocolate Cures Stress (And Other Stuff You Wish You’d Known Sooner).”  Deanna will help attendees explore how balance and bliss can peacefully coexist as she teaches us some of the best ways to handle life with more ease, less effort, and a strong sense of humor.  Deanna promises to deliver an amazing keynote that will leave a lasting impression by blending content, credentials and comedy into a presentation that is meaningful, memorable, powerful and practical.
Following Dr. Davis’ keynote presentation, a panel discussion regarding soil and water preservation and conservation will be held.  From there, participants will choose three breakout sessions from a variety of relevant topics.
In addition to the first-rate educational sessions, participants will be treated to delicious breakfast and lunch fare, and some of the best local vendors will be on hand for casual shopping.  Vendor applications will be accepted until March 2nd.  Vendors can download the form HERE.
