July 27, 2021

The Iowa State University Montgomery County Extension and Outreach office and Page County Extension and Outreach office will host a meeting on Wednesday, August 4, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Villisca Community Building. The meeting will last approximately 2.5 hours and will be facilitated by Tim Christensen, farm and agriculture business management specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach.

Canada thistle has been a consistent threat to crop production and perennial habitats since its introduction to the state in the late 1800s.  Now is the time to be treating Canada thistle in pastures, hayfields, and other non-crop areas if you don't want to wait for fall.

The 2021 Iowa Farm Custom Rate Survey, conducted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, covers the amounts charged and paid for common crop and livestock services.  Tillage, planting, harvesting, manure hauling, and livestock transportation are all included.

In order to help Iowans understand their options for 2021, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering a series of webinars.  Iowa producers have until March 15, 2021 to make their annual election for Price Loss Coverage or Agriculture Risk Coverage under the 2018 Farm Bill.
