Engineering Your Farm Podcast will Focus on Engineering and Environmental Issues in Agriculture

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach field agricultural engineering team has released a new podcast called “Engineering Your Farm.”
 
The team works with farmers and agribusiness professionals to help improve the efficiency, profitability and environmental outcomes on farms and rural homesteads. 
 
The podcast will feature information and interviews with ISU Extension and Outreach field ag engineers and others with expertise in engineering and environmental issues in agriculture.
 
A variety of topics will be covered, including grain drying, handling and storage issues, livestock facility design and ventilation, soil and water management, manure management, machinery management, compostingand farm safety. Solutions to common problems with homes and farmsteads, including energy efficiency improvements, indoor air quality, and well water quality will also be covered.

“This podcast is a great way for people to learn about new developments and get the latest information regarding management of farm facilities, rural homesteads, livestock, and crops,” said Brian Dougherty, field agricultural engineer with ISU Extension and Outreach. “Participants will also hear insights from industry experts and other farmers on implementing technologies and ideas to improve efficiency and profit while stewarding our natural resources.”
