Bats: Presentation and Netting (Drakesville)

Friday, August 3, 2018 - 7:45pm to 11:00pm
Event Type:

We will begin with a presentation by Dr. Russ Benedict about bats. Dr. Benedict, professor of biology at Central College, has spent most of his life exploring the prairies and woods of the Midwest. He is an expert in prairie ecology and restoration, conservation biology and natural history, and mammalogy. The bats should start flying around 8:30pm and we will try our luck at netting them. Hopefully the bats will start flying within the first hour of sunset. Please remember there is no way to predict if we will actually catch any bats. We will be in the woods at dark, please bring bug spray and flashlights.
