McFarland Park, Story County: Jumpstart your garden! Experience a twist on agriculture’s connection to nature by building a mini-aquaponics system to grow lettuce at home.

The project recirculates water from plants to fish and back to plants, both cleaning the water and capturing nutrients. Workshop leaders include Allen Pattillo, ISU Extension Fisheries and Aquaculture Specialist, Amanda Chung, ISU NREM Student Services Specialist, and Jay Staker, ISU Extension 4-H.
