How can you help pollinators thrive in our community? Join ISU pollination researcher David Stein to learn about providing space for pollinators and recommended native plants for your home landscape. David Stein is a Reiman Gardens’ Portal to the Public Science Communication Fellow, dedicated to sharing current research with public audiences through activities and outreach. Preregistration with prepayment required by Tuesday, July 10.

Collaborators include the Iowa State University Pollinator Working Group, the ISU Entomology Graduate Student Organization, the ISU Graduates in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology, Iowa Department of Transportation, Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge, Blank Park Zoo, and Ames High School.

Become a citizen scientist and an active conservationist through the Iowa Butterfly Survey Network (IBSN) with this training from our entomology staff. Learn butterfly survey techniques to monitor populations, provide data to identify potential threats, show effectiveness of habitat restoration, and give an annual snapshot of butterfly population health in Iowa.
Pre-registration is REQUIRED for this in person program, along with masks covering nose and mouth.
