Thursday, May 19th beginning at 5pm, City Horticulturist, Kelly Goossen will be providing a workshop on planting and installing a pollinator garden at A.Y. McDonald Park in Dubuque
 
Kelly will share strategies on how to prepare the site, select plants, and address seasonal maintenance in a pollinator garden. Participants will also have the opportunity to help plant the new pollinator garden on-site, learning proper planting techniques, landscape design elements, and bloom time ranges for pollinator diversity throughout the season.
 

Dubuque County Master Gardeners will be providing a hands-on workshop about pruning lilac bushes at the Dubuque Arboretum. Here attendees will have the opportunity to learn basic pruning techniques while understanding good pruning practices for flowering shrubs.

The Dubuque County Master Gardeners will host their annual spring gardening seminar 7:30 am to 12:15 pm Saturday, March 14 at the NICC Town Clock Business Center in Dubuque. Attendees can choose from educational sessions including herbs, succulents, mini hostas, pollinators, foraging, bonsai, and a seed exchange. Seed Savers from Decorah will give a keynote presentation.
