We’ll start with a tour of our garden greens which include kale, spinach, collards, mustard greens, Swiss chard and Asian greens. Then, we’ll talk about how to grow greens and protect them from pests. We’ll end the night by learning why greens are so important in our diet and enjoy a tasty green salad. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is hosting the 2016 Fruit and Vegetable Field Day on Monday, Aug. 15 at the ISU Horticulture Research Station near Ames. The annual event will feature commercial production for farmers, extension personnel and Master Gardeners. It is free and supper is included.
