Nate Bremer to Speak at the Iowa Arboretum

Nate Bremer, peony and daylily expert, will be speaking at the Iowa Arboretum’s Spring Symposium on April 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Nate’s morning talk is titled “Woody Peonies: ‘Wow Factors’ for Your Garden”.  His afternoon talk is titled “Summer Color: Daylilies for the Northern Garden”.   Nate will share his knowledge of selecting, planting, and maintaining great daylilies and peonies.

Nate owns Solaris Farms located on an old dairy farmstead in Reedsville, Wisconsin.  Nate is a retired science teacher with a background in conservation and plant science.  Nate and his wife Kim run the nursery that specializes in daylilies, peonies, and lilies. The nursery offers over 3,000 cultivars of daylilies that can be grown in colder regions of the Midwest.

Registration includes a free tree peony seedling and lunch.

The Arboretum is open every day from sunrise to sunset and is located 2.5 miles west and 2 miles south of Luther in Boone County.
