ServSafe Training

Iowa State University Extension is offering special training to help you meet the industry standards and your obligation to consumers.  The program aims to provide food safety training for restaurant and other food service managers and professionals.  Participants will have the option of testing for certification upon training completion.

Registration Information

  • 8 hours of training (8-6)
  • ServSafe® Essentials 6th Edition Manual
  • Exam will begin around 5 p.m. - most will take about an hour to take
  • Exam and Certification (75% or better score required)
  • 2019 Registration for Marshall County and other Serve Safe Dates in Iowa

Iowa Restaurant Association Member fee: $100

Non-member fee: $150

 

ServSafe Non-Certified: $75/person (Participants receive 7 hours of course instruction.  They receive no book or exam.
ServSafe Exam Only with Scheduled Class: $50
SafeFood: $35/person (This 2 to 2 1/2 hour program is based on ServSafe concepts and is designed to educate food handlers on food safety basics.

 

All participants must purchase the ServSafe® Essentials Manual and successfully pass the exam in order to be certified by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.  Certification is valid for five years.
 
*  Please Bring:  Photo I.D. 
At all classes, IDs will be collected and kept by the instructors before taking the exam and  returned when your exam materials are turned in at the conclusion of testing.
 
A minimum of 10 people are needed to hold a class. Businesses can combine staff to meet the minimum attendance requirements.
