Iowa State University will host three Power of Produce (PoP) Clubs at local farmers’ markets this summer. Youth ages 5 through 12 are encouraged to register and participate.

PoP Club is a club that meets at a farmers’ market each week. Through games and activities, PoP Club encourages youth to try new foods and eat healthy.

Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach is now accepting applications for their 2018 Northwest Iowa Master Gardener class to be held in Rock Rapids starting in August. 
Master Gardeners come from a variety of backgrounds. They are passionate about serving their community and sharing gardening best practices. Master Gardeners are individuals who have taken the Master Gardener training and share their time and expertise as volunteers in community gardens, city beautification projects and farmers markets, just to name a few examples.

Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach will host a free Garden Composting Workshop on Saturday, June 23 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Sioux Center Public Library. Composting is a great thing for your garden and the environment. It enhances soil quality and helps keep yard and garden waste out of landfills.
