Seeking AmeriCorps Members Candidates

Lucas County Extension will be hiring three AmeriCorps members for May-August 2022. Each service member will provide 300 hours of service in youth programming, day camps, summer activities, and county fair activities. Ideal service members will have experience in 4-H programming or youth development, capable of taking direction and working independently, be a self-starter who works well in a fast-paced environment, have strong written and verbal skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule.

 

Responsibilities include plan and implement youth programs, deliver youth day camps in June and July, advertise and recruit for youth programs, recruit youth to join 4-H, plan and implement activties for the Lucas County Fair, and pesent a review of activities completed during the 300 hours of service. Most hours will be from 8am– 4:30pm on Monday– Thursday, with occasional evening and weekend hours. Providing service as an AmeriCorps member has many benefits, including a living allowance, an educational award (scholarship), loan forbearance, personal growth, and resume materials. Must be 17 years old to apply.
