2022 Summer Youth Day Camps


Day Camp registrations are OPEN in 4HOnline! There are a total of 10 Day Camps being offered this summer for a wide range of ages! Questions should be directed to Lucas County Extension and Outreach youth staff: Logan Kinyon, lkinyon@iastate.edu or Dawn Morgan, dawnm@iastate.edu or call the office at 641-774-2016. 
The details: 
All camps will be held at the Lucas County Fairgrounds unless otherwise noted.
Lunch and morning snack will be provided for all camps! 
Camps will be from 9am- 3pm unless otherwise noted. 
There are two offerings of several of the topics, youth should choose one of the dates for each topic. 
Registration for all day camps will be completed in 4HOnline. Clover Sprouts and 4-H members should login to their 4HOnline account, select the youth they wish to register, select the events tab, and find the day camp event to complete the registration. Camp Offerings: 

Bugs and Blots: June 9th OR June 14th, open to youth that just completed grades K-3rd, $10 per youth; Discover new things about our six-legged friends na dcreate art out of nothing and everything 
Reactions and Responses: June 21st OR June 30th, open to youth that just completed grades K-3rd, $10 per youth; Explore the art of chemistry through experiments, creations, and stories of real science heroes. 
Treble Clefs and Trebuchets: June 7th OR June 16th, open to youth that just completed grades K-3rd, $10 per youth; Create beautiful music while experiencing tabletop battled with catapults and castles.
AstroCamp: June 23rd OR 28th, open to youth that just completed grades 2nd- 5th, $10 per youth; What is it like in space? Explore the life of an astronaut through science, art, activities, and more in this immersive space experience. 
Kidz Cook! June 14th, 9am- 3:30PM, open to 4-H MEMBERS ONLY that just completed grades 4th-8th and will be held at the Lighthouse Church of the Nazarine in Moravia, cost is $10 per youth, transportation can be provided home for a handful of youth; Some activities planned for the day include making breakfast burritos, a grilled cheese challenge, relay games, $10 Meal Challenge, cupcake decorating, and more! Registration can be completed in the Events tab in 4HOnline. Registration closes June 1st. 
Babysitting Basics Clinic: July 13th AND 14th, held at the Lucas County Extension office, open to youth who have just completed grades 5th-8th, 9am- 3pm each day, cost per youth is $30 including all snacks and meals; Participants will learn about caring for infants and children of many ages, gain hands-on experience, cook their own meals, train in basic CPR and first aid practices, listen to guest speakers, and come home with their own training manual!
