Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach in Kossuth County and Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare are partnering to offer a Naloxone Training. Naloxone is an FDA approved medication designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdose. The training will be held on June 13th at 5:30 pm at the ISU Extension and Outreach Kossuth County office (1121 HWY 18 E, Algona). There is no cost to attend.
Participants will learn about how opioids work, how to identify and overdose, and how to administer Naloxone in case of a drug overdose. After training completion, grant funding allows individuals to obtain a prescription for Naloxone through a pharmacist and have it mailed at no cost.
