Junior 4-H Camp - 4H enrollment is requited 

Join 4-H members from Washington, Keokuk, Iowa and Johnson counties June 4-5th (overnight) as we explore, enjoy and learn together at the Region 19 4-H Junior Camp! 

Junior 4-H Camp is open to 4th-6th grade 4-Hers. Registration open March 1st for 4H members. Payment is $180 per member.

Scales, & Tails, & Zoos, OH MY!

From snakes to salamanders and turtles to toads, campers will be introduced to the fascinating
cold-blooded world of reptiles and amphibians. Youth will learn how they survive in our northern
climate, the places they call home, what and especially how they eat, as well as investigate some very common misconceptions about these scaly and slimy neighbors of ours. Later on, we will have our friends from the Blank Park Zoo join us so we can see some of these animals in person!

This camp is Thursday, June 6th, 9 AM - 3 PM. It is located at the Keokuk County Extension Office. Any youth who have completed grades kindergarten - 1st in the 2023/2023 school year. The cost to attend the camp is $25 per person. Each camper needs to bring their own sack lunch. 4-H membership or participation not required. 

Art Adventures

Create and explore during this art camp with take home projects focused on elements of
line, shape, color, form, and texture through integrated art and literacy activities.

This camp is Thursday, June 13th, 9 AM - 3 PM. It is located at the Keokuk County Extension Office. Any youth who have completed grades kindergarten - 1st in the 2023/2023 school year. The cost to attend the camp is $25 per person. Each camper needs to bring their own sack lunch. 4-H membership or participation not required. 

Kids in the Kitchen

Explore different foods and safe handling practices in the kitchen. Healthy eating habits will come into practices as you make your won snacks, practice measuring, mixing, reading recipes, and more!

This camp is Thursday, June 20th, 9 AM - 3 PM. It is located at the Keokuk County Extension Office. Any youth who have completed grades 2nd - 3rd in the 2023/2023 school year. The cost to attend the camp is $25 per person. It is optional to bring their own sack lunch, we will be making our lunch for the day. 4-H membership or participation not required. 

On Their Own and Okay

Youth left at home by themselves without self-care skill may find ways to occupy their time that parents or guardians do not support. Some young people may truly be fearful of staying home alone. On Their Own & Ok builds skill in youth, as well as incorporates ways for parents or guardians in the home to support this step toward independence. 

This camp is Thursday, June 27th, 9 AM - 3 PM. It is located at the Keokuk County Extension Office. Any youth who have completed grades 4th - 6th in the 2023/2023 school year. The cost to attend the camp is $25 per person. It is optional to bring their own sack lunch, we will be making our lunch for the day. 4-H membership or participation not required. 

Spy School

Learn detective skills like fingerprinting, opening letters without a trace, and how to write hidden messages as you solve the mystery of the disappearing clover at Spy School!

This camp is Thursday, July 2nd, 9 AM - 3 PM. It is located at the Keokuk County Extension Office. Any youth who have completed grades 2nd 0 3rd in the 2023/2023 school year. The cost to attend the camp is $25 per person. Each camper needs to bring their own sack lunch. 4-H membership or participation not required. 

Babysitting Clinic

All 4th, 5th, & 6th grade youth are welcome to attend the Babysitting Clinic. Youth will learn about fire and weather safety, and first aid/CPR. You will learn age-appropriate toys, play poison control games, and so much more. 

This camp is Thursday, June 12th, 9 AM - 3 PM. It is located at the Keokuk County Extension Office. Any youth who have completed grades 4th - 6th in the 2023/2023 school year. There is not cost to attend this camp. Each camper needs to bring their own sack lunch. 4-H membership or participation not required. 

Adventures at the Lake

Adventures at the Lake is a day camp for youth in 4th, 5th, & 6th grades. Come join us as we have a jammed packed day of fishing, hiking, outdoor crafts, swimming, kayaking, animal hides and so much more. 4-H membership or participation not required.
