John Webb has a history, rich in 4-H traditions. He supported his own children on their 4-H journey and served on the Keokuk County Exposition Board as a member and 12 term President.  His hard work, service and dedication to the program were always spent in support of his mission: to ensure the happiness and success of the community youth and 4-H programs. Now, John looks forward to supporting his 5 grandchildren as they begin their 4-H careers.

“Our educational field trips were something new we tried this year,” says Keokuk County Extension Director Katharinna Bain. “These tours and visits made learning a lot more fun and were very engaging! I greatly appreciate the families and businesses that worked with us to make these field trips possible.” Some of the topics included in the training were Vegetables and Herbs, Weed Science, Entomology, Houseplants, Composting, Landscaping, Turfgrass, and Pest Management.

4-Hers and FFA members can purchase pigs through our swine superintendent, or bring their own! Weigh-in date takes place March 23rd, and the Antibiotic-Free show will take place after the regular swine show on Friday, July 18th.

Master Gardeners and the Fair Board agreed that this project needed to be completed, and were wanting to replace the affected trees with healthier shade trees. In total, these organizations decided to plant 68 new trees throughout the 33-acre property.
